‘Twas the day after Christmas…
Christmas is over and I hope y’all had a wonderful Christmas spent with your family. It was a great Christmas for us and I couldn’t be more grateful and thankful.
I love sending Christmas cards and it’s always a joy for me to receive them too. And I always prefer the traditional way…the snail-mail way. I don’t mind if it’s a fancy card with your faces and all or one that you just buy at the store because for me, it’s always the thought that counts. This is the Christmas card that I sent to family and friends across the U.S. this year.
One Jamming Christmas Eve
As we always do every year, we spent our Christmas Eve at my brother-in-law’s. We enjoyed the good food that my SIL prepared, chitchatted then opened gifts. I should have taken a picture of the aftermath after everybody opened their gifts.
Then my husband, his great-niece and my BIL did some jammin’ and played music using their guitars. They do that every year.
This was my in-laws’ decorations. Loved that Christmas village by the bay window. So cute!
Christmas Day
After that Christmas Eve merriment, we woke up a little later than usual on Christmas Day. Both the hubs and I woke up at around 9 o’clock. Our son didn’t get up until around 11 o’clock so while waiting for him so we could open gifts, I prepared our breakfast.
I made this Eggs Benedict Casserole on Christmas Eve and put it in the fridge then baked it and prepared the Hollandaise sauce on Christmas Day. This was my son’s request for breakfast and it was my first time preparing it following a recipe that I saw online. It was good!
We bought this delicious Coconut Cream Pie from the best bakery in town. I blogged about this bakery here on the blog before.
I also made a Filipino-style macaroni salad and I’m going to share it here soon.
I brought home a lot of desserts from my in-laws’ on Christmas Eve. My SIL together with my nieces baked a lot of cookies and desserts. I didn’t get to take a picture of them while we were there because I was so in the moment. But I remember taking a photo here at home of this adorable gingerbread that one of my nieces made. I may or may have not cut the head accidentally. LOL.
How was your Christmas? I’d love to hear.

There is such a melancholy feeling when Christmas is over. I am happy to see the new year coming our way though!
